Follow the red line, Installation 2006

The audience enters through a door from a well lit room. In the semi darkness on the other side of the door, a tv-screen with text instructions invites the visitor to continue into the room and with hers left hand take hold of a rope, working as a handrail. After only a few meters walk it is pitch black and totally quiet. Visitors taking part in the work have described the instant lost of space- and time coordinates and the feeling of the darkness as a physical compact entity pushing against their bodies. The piece revolves around questions conserning our dependency of eyesight and the dominance of visuality in arts.
