90 seconds, performance 2007
During a public apartment event with the artist-group Bezdomny. I made a performance in the bedroom which the visitors only could take part of one at the time. The person entering the bedroom was asked to close the door behind them. Through a pair of headphones, he or she were given further instructions, as: stand on the red markings. I took my position opposite at 60 cm distance. The voice in the headphones continued: take a deep breath, inhale ... exhale. Then I stepped forward to a 30 cm distance as the voice said: look her in the eye. Then we kept eye-contact for 90 seconds. The performance ended with a message from the voice in the headphones: thank you for your participation. The piece stages a constructed but yet real intimacy.
